Announcing First Fifty Auto Club’s 50th Annual Car Show!

We are finally having our car show! Last year was supposed to be our 50th show, but we all know happened in 2020 😉

This year we have a new date, a new day, a new time, and a new show! Unfortunately we could not get a venue for a swap meet secured, so it will be a car show only. However, this year we will be having live music, food trucks, and yard games!

WHERE: It is at SRO in Oak Grove MN (18919 Lake George Blvd, Oak Grove, MN 55303)
WHEN: Saturday, June 5th 2021
TIME: 11am – 4pm
ADMISSION: $20/car – includes 2 tickets, each redeemable for $3 in food & drink – SPECTATORS ARE FREE!

UPDATE: THE SHOW IS CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19. We are all disappointed but feel that cancelling the show is safer for everyone at this time. We have no plans to reschedule for this year as things are uncertain. We are planning to try again next April, also at Running Aces. Sorry about this, and please keep us in mind for 2021. Thank you

It is only $5 to get in this year! $5 person – Spectators, Swap, Show or Sell. FREE swap space with admission!

Heads up!

The Date Has Been Changed For Our Spring Show 2018!

From April 22nd to May 20th due to the large amount of snow that has accumulated in the past week.

It is looking like it will be a nice day for our original show date, however, there is the issue of swapper trailers being buried in snow and getting stuck in the mud from meltage. There just isn’t enough time in the next 5 days for it to be clean and dry. The roads are covered with salt too which is not so good for show cars!

We took a poll on our show event and Facebook pages, and it was heavily in favor of changing the date to May 20th, so we did. We did not come to this decision lightly and apologize if this inconveniences you in any way. Now cross your fingers that the weather will be agreeable on May 20th! 😉

The 8th Annual Cruise For Troops Event

This year, instead of doing our Fall show, we are volunteering at the Cruise For Troops cruise, car show & swap meet. The event raises funds to go to the Fallen Heroes Children’s Education Fund of Tribute to the Troops, and ALL proceeds will go to the fund.

 

From the Cruise For Troops website: ” We invite all grateful Americans to join us in paying tribute to our fallen troops. Bring out your hot rods, muscle cars, and motorcycles and take part in the largest combined car and motorcycle cruise in the upper Midwest! Don’t have a cool car, truck or bike, come join us for a great time anyway, we have plenty of activities for the entire family!”

“Patriotic cruise through the north metro back roads. (Arrive with a full tank!)“

 

WHEN: Saturday, September 24th, 2016 from 9 am – 5 pm. Registration is 9 am – noon, and the cruise runs from noon – 2 pm.

 

WHERE: Running Aces Casino & Racetrack: 15201 Running Aced Blvd, Columbus, MN 55025.

It is $15 to pre-register online at Cruise For Troops (Registration closes at 9am Tuesday, September 20th) or $20 the day of the event to participate in the cruise. Spectators are FREE, with a suggested $5 donation.

 

The opening ceremony is at 11 am, followed by a mandatory safety briefing. The cruise runs from noon – 2 pm, and the car show & swap meet runs from 9 am – 5 pm.

 

There will be a raffle & drawings for a Polaris 2016 Sportsman 450, and a Hammerhead Mudhead Go Cart! Only $5.00 per entry, and you do not need to be present to win (only to purchase the tickets!)

 

The awesome Holy Rocka Rollaz will be playing from 2 – 5 pm. There will be patriotic displays, a large silent auction, a 50’s pinup contest, live music, vendors, food & drink, and entertainment for the whole family!

 

This year they’ll have a bouncy house and obstacle course for the kids! There will also be face painting and a magician from 2-5! All kids activities are FREE!

Please tell your friends to come out and help us support the families of our fallen troops!

First Fifty Auto Club’s 2014 Car & Motorcycle Shows

First Fifty Auto Club is proud to announce 2 shows this season. Our first show is on Sunday, May 18th 2014 at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, and the second one is on Saturday, August 16th 2014 at The Mermaid Event Center in Mounds View, MN.  Both of the flyer links our posted on our Car Show Events Info page.

The spring show is our 44th Annual Car Show, Swap Meet & Flea Market, and is only *$5 to get in. This year we are adding a flea market, kids games, and a live broadcast by WDGY 740 radio! (*Admission is $5 per person or $10 swap space.)
Show cars get 2 occupants in. Military ID or 12 yrs & under get in free. 9 am to 3 pm. Award plaques handed out for club choice at 1:00 PM.

Swappers & flea market: You can set up the Saturday (May 17th) before from noon to 3.

Our fall show is our 3rd Annual Darrel Goad’s Raising Hel…p Car Show. It’s free to get in, with donations requested for the Wishes & More Foundation. Last year we raised $1800 for them! I will post the link to see our flyer on the Wishes & More website soon.

This event is a fundraiser for Wishes & More, a local organization that helps sick kids in memory of club member Darrel Goad.
Free admission with donations suggested for Wishes & More. There will be live music from the fabulous Holy Rocka Rollaz, lots of prizes and games for the kids – great family event!
We have goodie bags for the first 50 cars, and will be giving out award plaques at 1:00 PM.

8:00 am to 3:00 pm – come and go throughout the day.
ALL(!) Antique, Collector, Street Rods, Customs, Muscle Cars, Imports, Motorcycles, Trucks, and specialty interest vehicles – everyone WELCOME!

Recap from our fall Show

Time sure flies, and I just realized that we never wrote an update after our fall fundraiser for Wishes & More – yikes!

First off we would like to thank everyone who came out for our “2nd Annual: Darrel Goad’s Raising Hel…p Car & Bike Show” – you helped make the day a success!

We are proud to say we met our original goal of raising $1,000 for the Wishes & More organization by 12:00pm, and revised that goal to $1,500! We actually surpassed that goal too, raising $1,757 from the event. The club also threw in some nice prize donations on top of that.

We are working on how we can double that amount (or more!) for next year :-)

The weather was somewhat agreeable (for once!), and we had a ton of prize drawings throughout the day, with a grand prize drawing at the end. Plenty of kids games for family activities this year as well. Plus live music by the fabulous Holy Rocka Rollaz!

We gave out 5 plaques, and our 2nd “Goadster Award”. The Goadster Award is a trophy given out to the vehicle that we think our dear club member Darrel Goad would have chosen.

This whole show was in memory of Darrel, who passed away two years ago from cancer. The club unanimously agreed we would like to honor Darrel with this event, and give back to the community in his name. This is our 2nd show now.

The Wishes & More organization was chosen as our recipients because Darrel (or “Papa D”) loved kids (himself a Father of four, and Grandfather of six beautiful children), and we know he would have wanted to help them.

Joelle, a member of the Wishes & More organization gave a speech on behalf of Wishes & More, and a wish recipient, Mark, and his family were there to talk to people about the cause.

We can really help the kids and their families that are dealing with life threatening illnesses, and every little bit counts. Our thanks go to Joelle and Mark & his family for coming out and helping to raise awareness of this very worthy cause.

We will definitely be doing a “Third Annual” show next year, and we would love for you to come back!

Special thanks goes to Carol at The Mermaid, Joelle at Wishes & More, and The Holy Rocka Rollaz, and all of the businesses that donated prizes and/or distributed flyers for us.
